Read moreOur post-consumer PET bottle stream is sourced through a collection system combining voluntary drop-off points and a network of NGOs, associations, and small collectors committed to advancing the circular economy in Mauritius and Rodrigues. The bottles collected are sorted by colour to enhance material quality and facilitate recycling processes. They are then compacted into standardized bales, each weighing approximately 280 kg with dimensions of about 150 cm × 115 cm × 90 cm.
Currently, we are able to supply up to two containers per month, with each container holding approximately 18–20 tonnes of baled PET bottles.
Mauritius also benefits from its strategic position as a logistics hub in the Indian Ocean, with well-established shipping routes connecting the island to South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe, facilitating international transport and trade.
As part of a continuous improvement approach, we remain open to technical discussions with partners to further optimize sorting, preparation, and baling processes, with the objective of improving bale quality and strengthening the overall efficiency of the recycling value chain
