What is post-consumer recyclate?
Plastic recovered from products that consumers used and threw away - bottles, packaging, film - then sorted, washed and reprocessed. It is what EU recycled-content targets, such as those for PET bottles and packaging, count.
What is the difference between PCR and post-industrial recyclate?
Post-industrial (or pre-consumer) recyclate comes from manufacturing - trim, purge, off-spec production - and never reached a consumer. It is usually cleaner and more consistent than PCR, but it does not count as post-consumer content.
Where can I buy PCR plastic in the EU?
